CONCLUSION

Contraception and abortion cannot be an effective or moral solution to the social problem that every society must solve. A just society would protect the life of the unborn. The conservative conclusion is that abortion is wrong.


A COMPROMISE FOR PUBLIC POLICY

To justify taking the life of an innocent human being carries an enormous burden of proof. A blanket ban on abortion does not allow for exceptions in which the life of the mother will almost certainly be lost. A compromise for public policy is to permit abortion in only very rare and extreme circumstances such as:

  • In medical emergencies related to the life of the mother
  • Rape or incest
